EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ENTER - PLEASE JOIN IN!

Anyone can exhibit in our shows, so why not come along and have a go yourself? If you've never entered before, it will make this year's show even more fun when you visit!

You might win a prize or a TROPHY,  as well as gain the kudos of being awarded one of our coveted certificates.

Everyone in the family has a chance to win prizes and certificates. Your younger ones and their older siblings can make and bake biscuits, create a flower arrangement, decorate an egg, or make a card or enter the Lego challenge.

Of course, entries from parents are also welcome!

  • Do come along with your Carrots, try with your Tomatoes, or reveal your Roses. Most of us have a few summer blooms in our garden - it is surprising how often beginners take the prize with just a carefully chosen stem right out of their flowerbed.
  • Try our Novelty Classes. Take part in the Lego challenge. Or can you make an amazing minature garden?
  • For non-gardeners, there are prizes for home produce and baking.
  • You can enter your jams, home made apple pie, tray bake or chocolate brownies; breads, wine, biscuits, or pickles and chutney
  • Plus there are classes for floral art, handicrafts, sewing, embroidery, knitting, photography and drawings.

If you want to exhibit, first download a copy of the Show Schedule to decide which classes to enter. Your official entry form is inside.

Children's entries are free, and the fee for entries from adults is 50p per item, up to a maximum of £5. Just make sure you register your entries at the Pudsey Parish Church the evening before the show. Or save time by using our handy online form to register.

Deadline for online entries - 10.00pm on the Friday before the show. Saturday morning is reserved for staging of exhibits only.

ENTERING THE SHOW - HOW IT WORKS

1.) Registering to Enter

Because we need to work out how much space is needed to display hundreds of different items across all our different classes, you can't just turn up with your entry on the day of the show.

That's why entering requires you to register first. You tell us your name and the classes you want to enter - we give you a ticket with your entry number (one for each item) which you need to display next to your exhibit. This also anonymises your entry, so no one can tell whose is whose - which guarantees the judging is completely fair.

You can register your entry in person at the Hall the night before the show from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Or you can enter online and pick up your entry number tickets from the Show Secretary when you arrive to stage your exhibits.

2.) Staging your exhibits

Once you have your entry number, you can set out - or "stage" - your exhibits on the appropriate table. Each class will be clearly marked with a number and description. Show Stewards will be on hand to help if you have any questions.

As long as you have registered first, you can stage your entries on Friday night from 7.00 to 9.00pm. Or on Saturday morning of the show 9.00 to 11.00am.

PUDSEY SHOWS - RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. To ensure fairness and prize opportunities for new exhibitors, plus space for the show, unless agreed separately by the Show Secretary the maximum number of exhibits that may be entered in any one class by an exhibitor is two (2).
  2. All exhibits in the Fruit, Vegetable, Flower and Cactii classes must have been grown by the exhibitor or owned by them for not less than three months.
  3. All exhibits in the Childrens, Home Produce, Handicrafts and Photography Section(s) must have been created, made or taken by the exhibitor.
  4. All Flower Classes which refer to “One Vase” shall be staged in vases provided by the Association.
  5. Silk/Artificial flowers are not allowed in the Floral section, unless specified.
  6. Any prize may be modified or withheld at the Judges discretion if an exhibit is considered Not As Schedule or is judged as undeserving of the prize offered.
  7. If disqualified for exhibiting produce/items not your own, you forfeit the prize.
  8. The Society accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to exhibits, though every reasonable care is taken. By making an entry you indicate acceptance of these rules.
  9. Entries bearing marks other than staging tickets, variety name, or a caption if required, may be disqualified.
  10. If you wish to donate your exhibits at the close of the Show, please mark them with a sticker obtained from the Show Secretary. Unmarked exhibits are deemed reserved. At the close of the show, Exhibitors have 30 minutes to remove their Exhibits, after which all unmarked items will also become property of the Association.
  11. Any person wishing to lodge an objection must do so before 4pm on show day. Any protest or objection must be made in writing to the Show Secretary and lodged together with a fee of £5 (returned if the protest is sustained).
  12. For the purpose of adjudicating on any objection, the Committee reserves the right to inspect the garden or allotment of any exhibitor either on or after Show Day.
  13. The decision of the Judges is final, unless a protest is sustained.
  14. Any ruling of the Show Secretary shall be final on any point not covered by these regulations.
